ARTEMIS AUTUMN Event 2009

"Ecosystems driving Open Innovation through Embedded Intelligence and Software-intensive Systems and Services".

On 29th & 30th October, the ARTEMIS Autumn Event 2009 took place as part of the Co-summit 2009. The event comprised a large project exhibition with parallel sessions, key note speakers, a press event and the second ARTEMISIA General Assembly of 2009 took place. The event was co-organised with ITEA 2. This year, the place to be for industry, knowledge centres, public authorities and press was MADRID.

In Madrid, the twelve running ARTEMIS projects presented themselves at the exhibition for the first time. Together with the ITEA 2 projects, this yielded an exhibition of some 65 European innovation projects in Information Systems and Embedded Intelligence.  About 650 participants from industry, public authorities, research institutes, universities and press were gathered.

The general agenda of the ARTEMIS Autumn Event:
First day: the ARTEMISIA Steering Board Meeting & ARTEMISIA General Assembly took place, followed by a Grand Dinner.
Second day: the Co-summit day had a more open character with a co-organised programme with ITEA 2. The crown jewel of the ARTEMIS Autumn Event however was the exhibition of the first ARTEMIS Call 2008 projects.

Key note speakers presented industrial and political viewpoints on the Co-summit theme and the role of ARTEMISIA & ITEA 2. Both organisations streamlined their specific focus for innovation this year into two subthemes for the parallel sessions.

ARTEMISIA sub theme was: "Recalibrating the ARTEMIS ETP Strategic Research Agenda"

ITEA 2 sub theme was: "Business-oriented innovation that strengthens economy and benefits society"
