On April 23-24, 2009 the ARTEMIS Spring Event took place. This event, organised by ARTEMISIA Association, was hosted in conjunction with DATE09, which took place from April 20-24. It turned out to be a very efficient opportunity for industry, R&D and knowledge centres to shake hands during both international events.
ARTEMISIA is the association for R&D actors in Advanced Research & Technology of EMbedded Intelligence in Systems. Embedded systems is the fastest growing sector in Information Technology and are key drivers for innovation and competitiveness in virtually all industrial sectors, leading to the emergence of new markets and business opportunities.
ARTEMISIA is founding member of the ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking (JU), together with participating Member States and the European Commission. The ARTEMIS JU is a public private partnership that aims to stimulate R&D on Embedded Systems through a unique funding model. On March 5th, ARTEMIS JU has launched its 2nd call for proposals.
ARTEMIS was present at the DATE09 exhibition on April 21st till the 23rd. In the evening of April 23rd, the 3rd edition of the ARTEMIS Orchestra Contest was held, which gave contestants the chance to top the musical result of last year's participants. The contest was followed by the ARTEMIS community dinner, during which the prizes for the winners of the ARTEMIS Orchestra Contest were awarded. On April 24, ARTEMIS Focus session were held in the morning. After lunch, the bi-annual ARTEMISIA General Assembly was held (this meeting was only accessible for ARTEMISIA members and guests who join for the first time).
Entrance was free for ARTEMISIA members and Public Authorities. The entrance fee for non-members was 400 euro (200 Euro for SME non-members). This fee entitled non-members to participate the ARTEMIS Grand Dinner on the evening of April 23th and on April 24th entrance to the Special ARTEMIS Focus Sessions and the General Assembly (in case they join it for the first time).
